The thing that keeps us hostage that prevents us from doing anything else with the other things that we are being held hostage by – WE CAN DO IT OURSELVES mentality – otherwise known as HOSTAGE TO PRIDE

Here is the thing pride and control will own us:
1) Pride and control says you might fail, your good where you are at, why risk – what would people think if they knew who you really are
2) Says you don’t need to ask anyone else for help – you can handle it
3) Says I deserve
4) Says I’m not worthy, I’m not important
5) Says I will think about it later

THEN there is the uglier side of pride – this is the pride that vaults us above God, this it the pride that leaves us hopeless, isolated, alone
6) Says nothing is wrong with me, I don’t have a problem –
7) Says I don’t need Jesus
Ephesians 2:8-10
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

So who is in control of your life.
IS JESUS ANOTHER VOICE COMPETING FOR LEADING YOUR LIFE or is He the voice leading your life?

The guy I knew connected with Jesus and this is what happened – Luke 18:21-23
MONEY – What is holding you back – What is in your way of saying I am willing to deal with the thing that is keeping me HOSTAGE

You can be held hostage for as long as you want to or you can be free from what is holding you Hostage, Jesus can and wants to free you– it is your pick – John 8:34-36

So it's your choice, when you want to be free go to Jesus and He will free you up -- talk to a small group leader to pray with and for you and let Jesus make you free!
